Dr. Olusegun Akere
C.E.O/MD
Dr. Olusegun Akere is the Chief Executive Officer of Premier Specialists’ Medical Centre and a seasoned healthcare executive with over a decade of leadership experience in Nigeria’s health insurance and managed care sector. A Fellow of the Institute of Healthcare Finance and Management (IHFM), he specializes in healthcare financing, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth.
He served as MD/CEO of Masslife Healthcare Limited, providing strategic and operational leadership while strengthening key stakeholder partnerships. Previously, as Director of Operations at the Kwara State Health Insurance Agency, and Earlier at United Healthcare International Limited, Dr. Akere held senior roles including General Manager, Medical Services & Quality Assurance, he drove efficiency-focused systems, supported premium determination, and advised senior leadership on health insurance operations and financing models.
Dr. Akere holds an MBBS from the University of Ilorin and a Master of Health Care Administration from Walden University. He is recognized for his strategic insight and commitment to advancing accessible, high-quality healthcare in Nigeria.
Mr. Abumere Osemhe
Head of Internal Audit
Mr Abumere Osemhe Timothy (ACA) is an accomplished Accountant with a wealth of experience. He holds an HND in Accountancy from Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, his hometown. As a member of the “Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria,” Abumere boasts over 14 years of post-qualification experience.
For the past 12 years and two months, Abumere has been an integral part of The Premier Specialists’ Medical Centre, showcasing his expertise and dedication.
Apart from his professional accomplishments, he values family and is happily married with children.
Gloria Akpata
Head of the Corporate Affairs
Gloria Akpata has excellent skills in the management and coordination of people and processes. She has an eye for details in whatever she is doing. She is empathetic, a good team player with excellent communication skills. She has the ability to work under pressure, work with little or no supervision and able to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment.
She graduated from the University of Benin with a BSC.Ed, and has a 21 years working experience and has worked mostly in the private sector. She worked with a Legal Firm as PA/Administrative Officer for 5 years.
She has worked with The Premier Specialists’ medical Centre for over 12 years, and is the Team lead for the Corporate Affairs Department, a department saddled with the responsibility of liaising between Retainers (HMO, COMPANIES etc) and the facility in all ramifications. She ensures that the patient gets satisfaction, by making this process as seamless as possible.
Mr Otunla Afis
Information Technology Manager
Mr Otunla Afis, an accomplished Information Technology Manager, boasts three years of experience spearheading the design and implementation of IT infrastructures, managing diverse IT projects, and collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional teams. His track record showcases a talent for ensuring timely and cost-effective project deliveries, enhancing system uptime and reducing IT expenses.
With an impressive 17-year career in IT operations, Otunla holds a BSc from Lagos State University and an HD from Yaba College of Technology, complemented by various professional certificates.
Having contributed over nine years at Premier Specialists’ Hospital, he briefly resigned in 2020, only to be called back in 2023 to revitalize and reconstruct the department, leveraging his expertise and experience.

Highly skilled, results-driven HR Generalist with diverse experience in HR Business Partnering, Union Relationship Management, Stake Holder Engagement, Performance Management, Policy formulation and Negotiation. Bright has over 10 years of experience working in the Oil and Gas Sector (Subsea7) IT sector (Microsoft Nigeria) and Downstream ( Quest Oil and Engineering).
She has a proven ability to drive organizational success through effective HR best practices.
